Where it started

I’ve always been drawn to the human side of complexity. Growing up around medicine (my mom was a pediatrician), I saw early on how much communication shapes the patient experience. After studying at Emory University and earning my medical and business degrees at Vanderbilt University, I trained in emergency medicine at Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center. Each of those environments shaped how I see people, systems, and the complexity of decision-making.

It wasn’t until residency, when I joined a patient experience committee, that the full weight of this clicked. One reality, multiple perspectives. What patients felt and what clinicians intended didn’t always align, and that gap fascinated me. It changed the course of my career.

What drew me to coaching

That same curiosity about people’s perceptions, motivations, and actions later pulled me toward coaching. When I stepped into executive leadership, I worked with a coach myself, and I was hooked. The process was strategic, focused, and deeply clarifying. It brought new momentum to how I led and thought. Coaching planted a seed that became a calling: to help other leaders lead with intention, insight, and impact.

How it all connects

I work at the intersection of medicine, leadership, communication, and coaching. Practicing emergency medicine keeps me grounded in the human realities behind every system. Leading at the executive level has challenged me to grow as a leader firsthand. Quality improvement taught me how change happens at scale, while coaching applies those same principles one person at a time.

Through it all, I’ve discovered that communication is the lens that turns insight into action. The right conversation at the right moment can calm conflict, clarify purpose, and unlock growth—for individuals, teams, and entire organizations.

This perspective shapes my approach, grounded in one belief: we all grow when we connect more fully to our own humanity and honor it in others.
